How old is Orlando Christian Prep?
OCP was founded in 1960 as Orange Christian School. It has grown over the years to include pre-school through 12th grade.
Is OCP accredited?
OCP is accredited by the Florida Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (FACCS). FACCS is recognized and accepted by the Florida Department of Education.
How many students are enrolled?
OCP currently has approximately 330 students.
Do students wear uniforms?
Students wear uniforms in K4 - 12th grades. Students purchase their monogrammed polo shirts from the school office and wear khaki or navy blue bottoms (shorts or slacks for boys; skorts, jumpers, slacks, or capris for elementary girls; slacks, loner-length skirts or capris for middle and high school girls).
What time do classes begin and end?
6th - 12th grade: 8:00am to 3:35pm (M,T,Th,F); 8:00am - 2:15 (W).
1st - 5th grade: 8:30am - 3:15pm (M,T,Th,F); 8:30am - 2:30pm (W).
K2 - K5: 8:45am - 3:00pm (M,T,Th,F); 8:45am - 2:30pm (W).
What is the maximum class size?
K2 (6:1 ratio); K3 (12:1 ratio); K4-K5 (16:1 ratio); Grades 1-3 (20:1 ratio); Grades 4-5: (22:1 ratio); Grades 6-12: (25:1 ratio)
Does OCP have a hot lunch program?
OCP cooks all lunches on the premises. A menu is sent home at the end of each month and is posted on our web site. Middle and high school students can choose from a wide variety of items including salad bar, baked potato, pizza, and other items. Download this month’s lunch menu.
Does OCP have an aftercare program?
OCP has an aftercare program that is open until 6:00pm for a nominal fee. Student may be dropped off as early as 7:00am. Click here for more information.
Are the teachers degreed?
All teachers have a minimum of a 4-year degree in the area they are teaching (including all specialty teachers, i.e. P.E., Music, etc...)
Does OCP have a fine-arts program?
OCP has a rapidly-growing Fine Arts Department. The middle and high school drama students perform at least one broadway-style play each year. Elementary students will perform one broadway-style play each year. Opportunities for musical instrument lessons are available including piano, violin, brass, and acoustic. Students in 3rd - 12th grades may participate in fine arts competition including speech, writing, drama, and music.
Does OCP accept scholarships?
OCP accepts Children First and McKay Scholarships. However, applicants must meet OCP's admittance standards.
Does OCP offer financial assistance?
From time-to-time OCP has funds available to offer families that have a proven financial need. After applying for admission to OCP you may apply for financial aid by going to www.ffna1.com.
